My name is Emily Malamos and this is my first year as the music teacher at St. Cecilia's. I grew up in Geneva, IA and graduated from AGWSR High School in 2013. After high school, I attended Wartburg College and graduated in 2017 with a BME in Music Education and a minor in Leadership. Playing music has been an immense part of my life. I have played the flute since fifth grade and it has taken me all over the world; from New York City all the way to Salzburg, Austria.
After graduation, I traveled to Greene County Schools in Jefferson teaching music/band to a wide variety of ages. As a kindergartener, when asked what we wanted to be when we grew up, I had said a music teacher. In college, I met my husband Louis and we were married shortly after we both graduated in 2018. We later had two kids: Finn (3) and Coralyn (1). We love living in Ames and we are excited to be a part of St. Cecilia's even more.
