Strategic Planning Initiative Meetings - All are Welcome to Attend Please join us in the St. Louis Room to discuss our Strategic Planning Initiative for St. Cecilia School. We will be asking for input on Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) in regard to the school. This information will be used in our strategic goal planning. You are welcome to attend one or all of the following meetings:
-Thursday, March 5th 9-10 a.m.
-Friday, March 6th 9-10 a.m.
-Monday, March 9th 9-10 a.m.

FACTS Student Tuition Organization (STO) The FACTS online application for STO opened on January 1, 2020 and the deadline will be
April 15th. In addition to completing the application, parents will need to upload their 2019 federal tax return along with any other required schedules or tax documentation. The online FACTS application for STO award consideration is open and available at

If families applied through FACTS last year, they should use their same user name and password.
Families must upload a completed 2019 federal tax return and related tax documents if they are required to file a federal return.
The application deadline is April 15, 2020.
The STO application is required for your local school tuition assistance program.
St. Cecilia School will pay your $31 application fee. Therefore, you will not be asked to pay this fee at the end of your application process.
If a family needs assistance with their application they can call the FACTS Helpline at 866-315-9262 Monday - Thursday 7:30 am to 7 pm and Friday 7:30 am to 5 pm.

Heart Month in PE
We are participating in many fun educational heart activities during PE this month. As a part of heart month, students have already done the heart obstacle course and we kicked off the Kids Heart Challenge this week with an assembly from the American Heart Association. Students now have the opportunity to collect donations to help in fighting heart disease. Our goal this year is to collect $4000 at St Cecilia. All students are welcome to sign up online to learn more about ways they can have a healthy heart and collect donations. However, no donations are required to register and the class with the most online registrations will help their teacher earn an Amazon Gift Card! All donations are due February 25th. Students who collect at least $100 will be invited to our special heart heroes after school party sometime in March with a special guest.

Box Tops
The Box Tops spring school submission deadline is fast approaching! Look for a flyer in your child's Friday folder. You can attach your clipped box tops to the flyer or put them in a Ziploc bag and turn them in to your teacher. You can also put the Ziploc bags in the hallway collection box. The deadline for turning them in is Monday,
February 24th
. If you use the Box Tops for Education mobile app and scan your store receipts for the Box Tops, those are automatically submitted for the school. There is currently a promotion going on right now through the mobile app. For every receipt you scan for Box Tops in February, it puts St. Cecilia Catholic School in a drawing for 5,000 bonus Box Tops. A total of 5 schools will each win 5,000 Bonus Box Tops. So download the mobile app and start scanning your receipts today!

SCRIP SCRIP orders incentives. During the month of February, SCRIP will be having a little contest. Every family that participates in Scrip will be entered into our drawing. No family can win twice in the month.

Lenten Small Group for Moms Join Melissa Teggatz (Coordinator of Elementary Faith Formation) for a Lenten Small Group for Moms! Meals Needed Jaime Wandling (mom of Troy and Reid) has started her chemotherapy journey at Mayo. Please consider signing up to help with meals for the boys while they stay in Ames. They greatly appreciate the meals and prays-keep them coming!

MUSTARD SEED COMMUNITY FARM FUN-RAISER Saturday, February 22 from 5:00-7:30pm Mustard Seed Community Farm is dedicated to sustainable, simple living, love of neighbor, and creating a community in which everyone can participate in growing, sharing, and eating healthy food. You are invited to their annual spring FUN-raiser on February 22 from 5:00-7:30pm at Harvest Vineyard Church (320 South 17th Street, Ames.) Enjoy a delicious meal, craft sale, and fun for all ages. Vacation Bible School – Save the Date! Get ready to dig deep into the parables of the Bible this summer during our Vacation Bible School Week! This year's theme is Digging for Treasure.
